Leon Kiser (1931-1997) lived in Bristol, TN, which is the birthplace of country music. He learned to play stringed instruments as a child. Favorite: mandolin. He is well-known in NE TN & SW VA for his musical talent & contribution to the musical tradition there. Every year a show featuring & honoring local musicians is put on called, The Leon Kiser Memorial Tribute.
